I cannot even begin to express what happened at The Ridge today. Fifty-four baptisms. What an amazing thing to see. I am sure my husband will blog about it later. Perhaps he will be able to put into words what happened.
Any of you who read this that were there and want to add a comment [...]

Today I found myself reading out of Joshua 14. I love this chapter. Here we find Caleb requesting the land promised to him forty-five years earlier. Caleb was one of only two men that returned from the mission to spy out the Promised Land that boldly and confidently stated they could take the land. He [...]

I thought it might have been a joke played by one of my friends, but no it was for real. Jan Silvious actually commented on my blog. The author of ” Big Girls Don’t Whine.” I just had to turn into a little girl for a moment and tell you. Thanks Jan!!!
Now if [...]

Every Wednesday night we have small group at our house. I have discovered that we have some great cooks in our group. I have also learned from observation that you can tell what kind of a week we have had by what we bring to group. Last week for us was crazy, so [...]

Basketball and Lost
Posted in random thoughts on March 20, 2008 | 2 Comments »
My alma mater, Belmont University almost pulled it out tonight against Duke. During the end of the game, I was going back and forth between my bedroom where Lost was on and living room where the game was playing. I didn’t want to miss a minute of either. Talk about an intense few minutes.

We have been way too busy this week. Baseball season has descended on the house along with the ongoing dance season for my older girls. Both boys are playing which means mom chauffeurs one, dad chauffeurs and coaches the other. The schedule never seems to work out with both boys playing the same night at [...]
warm evenings

Warm evenings around here bring children from the neighborhood to the street in front of our house. It starts with the drawing of a big square. We section it off into fourths, and bring out the ball. My kids love four square. They play it almost every night as the weather warms up. [...]
Are you a Big Girl or a Little Girl?

This is the title of one of the chapters of a book I love. The author, Jan Silvious, is one of the many speakers and authors I enjoy. I think it is her witty no nonsense way of putting things that make me like her so much. I used to listen to her back [...]

I found this article and wanted to share it. Maybe because having a birthday makes you reflect on what the years behind have held, and makes you wonder what waits ahead. I believe this was written by Marcia Somerville the creator of a homeschool curriculum called Tapestry of Grace.
Time. We all have the [...]

Here is the now seventeen year old. Tonight is her party. Thankfully, I am feeling much better today. I hope we are sick free for a while. I am taking the baby to the doctor today. She hasn’t slept well in at least four nights, and that means I haven’t slept well in [...]
