I’m playing a little bloggy scavenger hunt that’s going on over at apreacherswife.com. I really hope I win because I am wanting The Pioneer Woman’s new cookbook.
The Treasures
1. First Name. Kim
2. State and Country of Residence. Georgia
3. Husband’s Ministry Title. Senior Pastor
4. Length of time in Current Ministry Location. We have lived in the metro Atlanta area for the last eleven years. The first seven years we were on staff at a church in a neighboring county, but four years ago we started a church plant.
5. Children? If yes, give gender and ages. We have eight children.
Girl-18 , Girl-16, Boy-13,Girl-11, Girl-9, Boy-8, Girl-5, Girl-2. and yes, with six girls I wish I had stock in Kotex.
6. Number of unique homes in which you’ve lived during your marriage. Eleven. Good thing, I like change.
7. Cook Sunday lunch or eat out? Cook. Preacher daddy usually doesn’t get home until around 1:45 . We meet in a school and have to break everything down and put it into trailers after church. Plus, it would cost a fortune to take that many people out to lunch. But, when all the kids are gone, I’m eating out every Sunday. I’m just sayin’.
8. Typically on time for Sunday School or not? usually on time.
9. Favorite TV Show. I would have to say 24 and Lost, can’t choose between them
10. Something you watch/like/do that you would never tell the church people. (Except now you just did…lol) Hmmm, not sure since I blog I think they know everything.
11. Most annoying church-related pet peeve. uummm…. people.
Actually it would be unrealistic expectations some people tend to have of those in ministry.
12. One thing you need to throw away but can’t bring yourself to do it. Hmm, not sure. I like to throw stuff away.
13. The one food you can not live without. I love Mexican food and a cold fountain Coke to go with it.
14. Parsonage or have your own home? have our own home.
15. Freak when the doorbell rings or always ready for a visitor? Ready for visitors, if they don’t mind a few toys on the floor.

oh I hope you win too so I can borrow the cookbook
Fun reading your answers.
I wish I could be more like you and not freak when the door bell rings….maybe I’m watching too much of criminal minds.
99 % of the time when my doorbell rings it’s someone under the age of ten wanting to know if my kids can play.
There is nothing better than mexican with a fountain coke!!!
I grew up in Roswell. My husband and I met at First Baptist Woodstock. Jost thought I’d through that info out since you’re in the ATL area.
We live in S. Ga. now but are in Canton quite often visiting my parents!
Woodstock was one of our supporters when we started the church. We are very thankful for Johnny and his family. They are great people!
Please tell me your secret to getting all those kids to church on time!
I get everything ready on Saturday night. I started doing this when the first few were born. Since he was gone early on Sunday mornings I had to do it all myself…which I am sure y’all can relate to.
Yup, same here and I’m not a pastor’s wife! It certainly makes the rush of a Sunday morning so much easier when everything is ready to go!
Blessings,
Tammy ~@~
Wow! you have a big family. That’s so cool. I came from a family of 5 kids and I loved it
You are SO blessed to have eight kids! I would have loved more than two… so would my kids… but didn’t happen. If you ever get over whelmed with too many… just send one my way!!! I am pre-menopausal so I have lots of feminine products on hand!! LOL
Mexican food. Yes ma’am!! And 8 kids…you are fabulous!!
We just moved to Georgia to start a church plant too!
Love finding things in common!
Love me a “24-watching” Pastor’s wife! Can’t wait for Jack Bauer to return in January!!!
Blessings on you and your husband’s ministry, and your children.
