Let us see to it that the devil will hold a thanksgiving service in hell, when he gets the news of our departure from the field of battle.” –—–C. [...]

unexpected tragedy

This morning I received a call that I wasn’t expecting. It seems my brother tried to stop a gang beating at his apartment complex sometime last night. He was shot and killed. This afternoon we are headed up to Nashville.  Please pray for our family and my parents during this time.

Did you hear that President Obama wants to extend the school year and possibly the school day? That’s all we need is for children to spend more time in the same system that they say is  failing so many.
Why can’t we just allow our tax dollars to follow our children to the school that we [...]

I have been participating in an online book study hosted by the preacher’s wife. We have been going though Piper’s book, Spectacular Sins. Though I don’t totally agree with  Piper on parts of the Calvinism issue, I have really enjoyed this book and have for many years considered myself a Piper fan.
I loved this week’s chapter, [...]

a grand purchase

Yesterday was a great day.  Preacher daddy was home and we were able to divide and conquer. I handed him the Sam’s list and I took on Wal-Mart.
While at wal-mart I splurged and bought something grand. I bought a  pencil sharpener and now every pencil in our house has a point. WooHoo! I am so [...]

I’m at it again

Don’t tell preacher daddy, but I rearranged the living room. I have already moved all the furniture and rehung the pictures. Unfortunately, he will not be surprised. P daddy knows I have to change things around a bit. I get bored easily. He will be glad to know that I didn’t save the picture hanging [...]

The oldest has narrowed her college search down to three schools. She has finished the paper work for two them, but still has one to go. The major that she has chosen seems to be offered only at this school.  However, she really likes this school.  Here is her third choice. Whichever way the Lord [...]

I received this in my email from Dan Miller. By his title I at first thought he had been reading my blog and knows what a dork I really am. Actually, after reading his article I thought it was worth passing along and apparently wordpress thought so too. It tried to publish it [...]

country goes to town

Tonight preacher daddy and I jumped in the pickup and headed to downtown Atlanta. Someone had generously given p daddy a gift card to a fancy schmancy restaurant. Once inside the restaurant I knew it was country come to town. Probably pulling up to valet parking in the pickup was the first clue. Thank goodness [...]

I received a magazine in the mail today from a local christian radio station.  In it was the following article. I hope you will enjoy the information as much as I did.
